Key Findings

Leave and
Accommodations
Requests Keep Rising

For the third year in a row, the majority of HR leaders report continued increases in both leave and accommodations requests. Caseloads are growing, situations are becoming more complex, and employee support needs continue to evolve. HR needs a lifeline, either via technology or headcount, to keep up with everything and stay compliant.

Leave Landscape
Reflects Five
Generations of Needs

Leave requests made by employees today no longer follow one dominant pattern. The top reasons now include recovering from illness or injury, bereavement, bonding with a new child, caregiving, pregnancy-related needs, and mental health. Supporting today’s multi-generational workforce will require both flexibility and technology that takes the burden of complex case management off of HR.

Accommodations
Focus on Mental
Health, Time Away,
and Remote Work

Mental health is the #1 reason for accommodations, holding steady for the third year in a row. Remote work and leave as an accommodation also remain high on the list of requested accommodations. RTO is on the rise, and informed, educated employees are driving a surge in accommodations requests.
